Putting Heart into Healthcare, one Patient at a time.
What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is what it sounds like - direct access to your primary care doctor. You pay a monthly membership fee to our office and can then access your doctor as needed. Need to come in for a visit? Your visit is included in your membership without a co-pay. Have a simple question? Text your doctor and get a response. There's a lot of benefits to this practice model, but the biggest difference between us and a traditional primary care practice is we don't take insurance. By not taking insurance, we can take care of your individual health needs instead of following a care plan based on an insurance company algorithm. Keep reading to learn more about our patient-centered approach to primary care.
INSURANCE FREE = HASSLE FREE
We don’t accept insurance. This means we work for our patients, not insurance companies. We treat our patients based on what they need and not what an insurance company tells us they need. As a Heart In Healthcare member, the majority of your primary care is covered by a simple monthly membership fee. This straightforward approach allows us to focus on your care.
FEWER PATIENTS = MORE TIME FOR YOU
We care for hundreds of patients while a traditional doctor cares for thousands. We do this on purpose. Because we limit the number of patients we see, we’re available when you need us and able to respond to your questions in a timely fashion. We're also able to be flexible with how we care for you, offering telehealth appointments, phone calls, and texting with Dr. Blalock to our members.
EXTENDED VISITS = PRODUCTIVE VISITS
We offer extended appointment slots with Dr. Blalock, as opposed to the (on average) 15-minute visit you'll likely get at a traditional clinic that relies on health insurance reimbursements. You won’t feel rushed through a visit and there’s never a question you won’t have time to ask. Part of the relationship you’ll build with your doctor is based on your understanding of your care. That’s what we call personal healthcare.
